How the Dispatch Works.

A transparent account of how articles are selected, written, reviewed, and corrected at Turen Dispatch — from initial subject selection through to post-publication accuracy review.

Publication Classification

Turen Dispatch is an independent editorial publication focused on everyday nutrition practices and weight awareness. The publication is not affiliated with any commercial, governmental, or institutional body.

01  /  Editorial Principles

The Foundation of Every Article

Turen Dispatch operates under the following editorial principles: articles are reviewed by at least one second editor before publication, sources are cited where appropriate, corrections are noted publicly, and writers disclose any commercial relationships that could influence their selection of subject matter.

01

Two-Editor Review

Every article submitted for publication is read by a second editor before it appears on the site. This second read checks factual accuracy, source quality, and consistency of tone. No article is published on the strength of a single editorial judgement.

02

Source Citation Standards

Where published dietary research is referenced, writers are required to cite the source in-text or in an appended reference list. The Dispatch does not accept unsupported nutritional claims. Opinion is clearly separated from observed fact or cited research.

03

Public Corrections Policy

If a factual error is identified after publication — by editorial staff, a reader, or an external source — the correction is noted in the article with the date it was made. Corrections are not silently applied. Readers are encouraged to submit corrections to [email protected].

04

Commercial Disclosure

Writers are required to declare any commercial relationship — past or present — with any brand, product, or organisation mentioned in their articles. Undisclosed commercial relationships are grounds for retraction. The Dispatch accepts no paid placement or sponsored content of any form.

02  /  Article Selection Process

From Subject Idea to Published Article

01

Subject Proposal

Writers submit a subject proposal of 150–200 words outlining the specific nutritional angle, the evidence base available, and the editorial framing. The primary editor assesses fit against current coverage and approves or declines within five working days.

02

Research & Drafting

Approved proposals move to research. Writers gather published dietary research, identify relevant source material, and draft the full article. The Dispatch requires a minimum of two cited sources per article. Opinion-based passages must be clearly framed as editorial observation, not established fact.

03

Second-Editor Review

The completed draft is submitted for second-editor review. This stage checks factual accuracy against cited sources, editorial tone consistency, stop-word compliance, and the absence of unsupported nutritional claims. The second editor returns comments within four working days.

04

Publication & Monitoring

Approved articles are scheduled for publication. Post-publication, the editorial team monitors reader correspondence for factual challenges. If a verified correction is required, it is applied and dated within two working days of verification. Article history is retained internally.

Methodology Questions

Every article is written by a writer with a nutrition or food-writing background. The second-editor review is conducted by a member of the core editorial team. For articles referencing specific dietary research, the second editor checks source quality and citation accuracy against the original publication where possible.
From completed draft to published article, the process typically takes seven to ten working days. The second-editor review accounts for four of those days. This deliberate pace reflects the publication's preference for considered accuracy over rapid output.
When a factual correction is verified, it is applied to the article within two working days. A correction notice is added at the top or bottom of the article indicating what was changed and on what date. The original erroneous text is not retained. The editorial team keeps an internal record of all corrections applied.
Yes. If an article is found to contain undisclosed commercial influence, systematic factual inaccuracies that cannot be corrected without rewriting the piece, or content that no longer aligns with editorial principles, it is retracted. A retraction notice is placed at the original URL explaining the reason. Retracted articles are not deleted.
